Our sailing season ended a couple of weeks ago but to help recall the days of summer later this winter I put together a few picsfrom the Malletts Bay area on Lake Champlain where we moor our boat. Hopefully others will share pics from their sailing venues as well. Winds here were exceptional this summer, either dead calm or blowing the tops off the waves.
Thanks for the photos. Top notch crew you have there! We have always thought that Lake Champlain would be a terrific sailing spot. With that frame on the boat you should be ready for those Vermont snow storms!
Thanks guys...anyone in the area is welcome to contact me. I've not formally volunteered to be a local liaison because employment these past couple of years has been on and off so not quite sure what the future holds.
"crew"...my daughter loves to sail but since she moved to Seattle our outings are limited. Looking forward to teaching my grand-daughter to sail in a few years.
winter "frame"...its my adaptation of what I recall Arlyn described on this forum long ago.
Okay, here are my Days of Summer. Not as much time on the C25 as i would like, however it was a great season of Force 5 racing. http://2011sailingseason.shutterfly.com/
That is how it was when I got the boat. I have never had a single problem with it. It seems to be fine even with the sail flogging or a fast gybe.
Jerry,
The cover I found in a local town by me for sale on Craigslist for $500. It comes with a complete Aframe structure. It is the best full cover I have seen. It was made for the C27, however it fit my boat just fine. Only one small fold near the front because it was a little big. It was made by a company in Buffalo and I called them and they make each cover to fit. If you knew someone in the area that would let them use their boat as a template I am sure it would work. The A-frame structure is made from galv. fencing and it is self supporting. I haven't seen anything this good anywhere.
I can get you the name and number of the company in a few weeks when I go down to take out the windows. Send me an email to czofchak at sbcglobal dot net no spaces.
It will be nice to be able to remove the windows now and keep it dry.
