I purchased a 1982 Catalina a while back only to find out that it had structural damage that was going to cost more to fix than the boat was worth. The boat was disposed of, the trailer was sold last year. I am getting ready to move and have ran across what I have left. It consists of a Main sail, Jib, an anchor, rudder and some dock fenders. I am working as much overtime as possible right now so I don't have the time to ship or pack these up so it needs to be local pick up only. I might be convinced to deliver or meet someone if it is within 150miles. Sails are slightly dirty but just need a good cleaning and would look great. The gib I believe is for a roller furler as I did not see any hanks. There is about 6in where the jib is separated at the top but will be an easy fix. The dimensions are a rough estimate because I was using a yard stick. My tape measure has already been packed up. Main was 26'X 9'and has been converted to full length battoned. Jib was 28'X 16'. Anchor feels like it weighs about 25lbs. Not sure what condition rudder is in. All of these Items have been stored inside my house since I have owned them. Check the links below for pics.
If you come and pick it up $200 will take it all. I am giving you guys first chance before I post it to Craigslist then ebay.
LOL That's the kinda enthusiasm I was hoping for. Too bad you are in Canada Eh? And just FYI Denison,TX 75021 is 1hr north on Dallas on Hwy75. Practically on the border of TX/OK
Yup--that's a furling genoa, with a (presumably) Sunbrella sun strip. I suspect it's a standard rig 150%, although your foot length measurement doesn't verify that--the key measurement is perpendicular to the luff (leading edge) to the clew.
Sorry to year you had to scrap her--hope something else works out for you.

If the sails are tall rig sails I will take you up on this as I am local and can pick this up. If they aren't, I'd still be interested in the rudder and anchor.
Man I could really use a new main, mine is on it's last leg.

My number is 469.230.1734 and I'd be happy to come out to Dennison next week or even tomorrow.
OK terrific, or I could bring a tape measure when I come out. The rudder and the anchor alone are worth a visit to me. Today is my wife's birthday and we have company in town but I would be able to come out possibly tomorrow (But I'm trying to put a sail together with my father in law in from Vegas) or Tuesday afternoon if that would work for you.
OK here are the measurements I took they don't seem to fit exactly with what you have but this is what I got.
Luff = 27ft Foot = 9ft 2in Leech = 29ft(measured this loose and around the outside edge of sail not straight line from head to clew)
So at this point not for sure of anything but I know it was being used on the 1982 swing keel Catalina before I bought it. I purchased the boat from a friend and we went sailing a few times before I bought the boat. After I bought the boat I had it stored on a trailer. Someone decided to steal the trailer but not the boat. They tied the boat to a tree and yanked the trailer out from under the boat. Then took the mast with them. Man was I pissed. I bought another trailer for it. Got it moved and then found out the swing keel mount had been damaged pretty bad. I didn't have any more money to put into the boat, so I cut up the boat, stored the trailer till last year, then found a buyer for it. Now I am moving to California and just trying to thin down all of the stuff I have acquired over the years. You guys are the experts. You tell me what sail this belongs to.
I found a scale. Seems 12lbs feels a lot heavier than it used to. The Anchor that I have is 12lbs not 25lbs as stated earlier. Although I did find a second anchor of a different design as well, that I am throwing into the sale. Anyone interested? I believe the Main is a tall rig and I am just not measuring right.

Yes, let's do this, when is good for you? This afternoon would be perfect for me or this evening. This does include the rudder as well correct? Do you think everything would fit in an Xterra? Please call me at
I have to work till 9pm today and tomorrow. I will be off all day on Friday and be free on Sunday. I don't mind meeting you late tonight or tomorrow or this weekend. What ever you would like. I do think it will fit in an Xterra but I would expect it take up most of the back seating area.

Yeah if these sails are tall rig, which I think they are, and in decent shape it really helps save my season. My main has ripped twice in the last two months. My head sail is good but I've always wanted a 155, which I think the head sail is.
