Well i pulled the boat out this past weekend to get her ready for winter(hate that word). When I launched her in July I only had barrier coated the bottom, nothing more. I scrubbed her bottom once over the summer, but was surprised how much alge had grown on it when i got her out of the water. Next season she will get a lite coat of barrier again, but will also be applying a coat of VC or something comparable as she will be in the water more next season(march-nov). So now the winter projects start!!! Oh Boy!!!
Yeah - tell yourself about all the winter projects you are going to get done, that way you will have more stuff to procrastinate until the week before launch to do.
You wouldn't believe how much stuff moves down on that priority list each winter.
Excatly I already have a notebook page full with a list of "to do's" for the winter and I'm already shuffling projects around on it. I was gonna remove the outboard when I pulled boat, but didn't want to go thru the hassle of disconnecting all the wiring and shifter/throttle controls, so I think I'm just gonna trash bag it and leave it hanging. I gotta give credit to my neighbor for guiding me into the driveway and telling me when I was close to the garage, when I got out of pickup and saw how close I was I had to ask if I hit, he said nope, "your right on the money". Interlux is what's on it now, I think I'm gonna rough it up, put a lite coat of interlux and hot coat the VC as the interlux is drying.
I've put Pearl in my driveway twice a year (between Erie and Florida splashings) for a few years now, but somehow this year my anchor light is sitting at a funny angle.
