I am excited to announce that the 2011 Nationals will be hosted by Wayzata Yacht Club in Wayzata Minnesota September 9-11 2011.
We're eagerly recruiting Capri 25's, Catalina 25's, and Catalina 250's to participate. We have a crane to get you in and out of the lake. There is a housing coordinator who will make sure you find a place to bunk. We will also have boats for charter.
Whether you're a seasoned racer or new to racing altogether, you should trailer-up and head to Wayzata for an awesome three day weekend in September.
There will be 30+ boats on the starting line. Don't miss out on this outstanding event!

This regatta will include the largest Capri 25 fleet in the world. It's going to be awesome!
If you are coming, interested in coming, or even curious... please respond.
Thanks, OT

It's early for folks to make plans for September. Interest will start to pick up in the Spring when people get their boats back on the water. If you have 30+ boats, it will set a new record for participation in our National Regatta. We had 29 C25s from 8-9 states on the line in 1985, when the C25 was our only class. Your regatta is likely to be one of the best ever!
Would love to go. But we don't usually race in the spinnaker class anymore. It's often just 2 or at most 3 of us. I'll have to see what I can do during our Spring series to get consistent crew and practice our spinnaker skills.
We had 10 for the Nationals during Cleveland Race Week in 06. All c-25's of varying configurations. Of the 10, only 1 boat regularly raced with a spin. We opted for a JAM class - I didn't see any mention of that in the NOR, you might consider going that route. The year prior I beat people up with numerous emails to promote the event. If you have any questions about how anything was done please feel free to email me.
Would love to see you here with your boat. I'd be happy to get some folks to help out with spinnaker practice. Regardless, there's some likelihood that we would end up with a non-spinnaker subclass.
We'll help with all the logistics. Let me know what it's going to take to get you in this event!
Thanks, OT

May have to put my name up as crew.

By the way, we already have 30 boats with spinnakers. We'll hopefully have everyone using them, but can easily arrange a non-spinnaker element depending on interest.
Thanks, OT

Here in Licoln, we have a guy here with a nice Capri 25, hope to get him up there. I have a Catalina 25, with spinn. I want to trailer up also. Any idea how many Catalina's might be there, or are already on the lake? There are a handful of other Catalina 25/250's here, could possibly get one or two more to go if others will be there.
That should be fixed now. Thanks for the heads up!

It's likely that the Capri 25's would race with spinnakers. We're not yet sure about the Catalina 25's and 250's. We'll do the popular thing based on feedback from the boats planning to participate.
Regardless of our plans, we will make a race-day safety decision about the use of spinnakers in the event of heavy wind.
Thanks, OT

We've made great progress on regatta planning. We have a handful of great sponsors signed up, and many more in the works. We booked a great band for the live music. Food planning is underway - it'll be great! There are many volunteers signed up to make it a success. We will be filming Capri 25 racing on June 2nd - looks to be a heavy wind day. This footage will be used for a promotional video.
If you have a Capri 25, Catalina 25, or Catalina 250 you should seriously consider attending this event. We have people that will help with every aspect.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
