We are currently under a major tornado warning, winds in the low 60's. Blowing like crazy at the moment, lots of rain and horizontal rain. Our metal fireplace chimney is ringing and rattling. Strongest tornado track warning is about 1 mile south of us. Keeping our fingers crossed! Good news is it's a fast moving storm.
Edit: It's about 20 minutes later and the worst has passed by our neighborhood, no casualties that I'm aware of, but here are still rotation cells in the area.

Right before I went to bed, the news people estimated about 25,000 lost power last night. Some damage out at the lake was reported, mostly trees down, so I'm going out there today to check on the boat. Day before yesterday I had just replaced the tarp and some poles on the 10x20 canopy over our C-22 here at home. Looks like it came through okay.
You got what we had in Northern (UP) Michigan last week. Winds were clocked at 68 mph at the local airport, 73 at Stannard Rock light in eastern Lake Superior. Thankfully the wind was from the southwest. My boat was in the lee of the house helping to keep the tarps on. We had approximatley 2600 folks without power, but being a rural area, that was sigificant.
The winds continued next day in the 40's with heavy snow cauing blizzard conditions which hampered clean-up and electic repair and closed schools.
Went out to marina today. Thankfully, no damages there. I did notice several streams up toward flood stage. The Cumberland River at Clarksville, near the KY border and downstream of us, is supposed to reach flood stage this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
We were very lucky. One of 2 twisters passed by the marina about half a mile away. Damaged the roof of 2 churches, a Bridgestone Tire distribution center and several houses. The 2nd twister did a lot of residential damage around the other lake in our area, no fatalities thankfully.
Tornado alley has truly moved East. We just don't get the action we used to. Tornado casualties have been rare for a generation around here, I hope the new Eastern alley develops the same "second sense" and stays safe too.
