After bringing my ballast under the A-berth up to ~300 lbs. I've finally got "Take Five" pretty close to floating on her lines. I still need to de-winterize/shock/fill the water tank, which will bring the bow down a slight bit more.
At this point my mast rake is still around 7", a bit more than the 4" recommended in the manual. Before I de-tension my rig and start over from scratch with a shortened forestay, I thought I'd ask your guys how important this is. Are any of you sailing with more rake than recommended? What are the plusses/minuses of this?
