I have a trip coming up on a friend's boat from Bath, NC to Cape Lookout. He wants to overnight in Beaufort on the way out so we are trying to figure out the anchoring situation in front of Beafuort. Any insights?

There used to be some space near the mooring field in Taylors Creek - which is essentially the waterfront as far as I recall...

We only did it once 'cuz it's a hike up in there...

That is what I think too, but we will pick up crew from Beaufort so we need to get in there.

Beaufort has a great seafood resturant (or at least it used to have)

In NC it is pronounced "BO-fort", in SC it is pronounced "BU-fort". Just for trivia
