I saw that a fer days ago. Looks interesting, but not at the price they want. Bet I could make something similar with some PVC pipe, garden hose and rope. I wonder if the large loop is plastic or rubber coated wire.

I coulda been rich! The advantage of the Nauti Duck Dock-A-Matic is that one end is secured to the boat (over a winch or cleat). That cheap knockoff () is hand-held. Good lunch stopping a 4500lb boat with that.
I work in the IT business and look at the Dock-A-Matic as my contribution to the "open source" set of products in the sailing world. It is free to anyone to use or improve upon.
We used the Dock-A-Matic just last night and it still works great.
