A buddy of mine is selling his very lightly used Yamaha 07 2.5 HP 4 stroke motor. He wants $695 for it. He says he used it a couple of times and I believe him. Just had it gone over by a mechanic. I doubt it'd be worth shipping it but if you're close by ..............

FWIW.

Not sure about the price but is it a little high? I may have been lucky but I just bought a 2009 Tohatsu 2.5hp 4 stroke AND a 2009 8 ft West Marine dinghy for $900. There were some minor issues. Minor barnacle growth. Soaked in Lime-away and they just dissolved. The engine had a broken cowl clip but other than that everything seems fine.

I just mentioned this to help him sell it. I may have just been very lucky since the guy was going through a divorce and was selling almost everything.

Having said all that, while searching for a 2.5hp motor, I saw prices in your friends range or lower. It looks to me he's on the high side? Maybe not for Florida?

Your dink/motor deal was a great deal! A new Yam 2.5 is going for $794 in Jax FL so he may be a little high on price, which is not to say he wouldn't come down a little.

Exactly, we recently acquired a 2011 Suzuki 2.5, new, never run and minus the packaging for 6 boat units. Even got the factory warranty registration tranferred into our name.
