Post up what they go for. Although, auction prices will usually be the lowest prices paid.
Asking price is never a good way to get value...only what people are paying. Many folks have no idea what their boat is actually worth. I can "ask" whatever for my boat....doesn't mean it's worth that.
There are many boats I saw for sale back in February/March when I was shopping that are still for sale. Many for the same price, but some have done a couple of price drops....but are still for sale.
First of 5 listings on Ebay just ended, 1986 C25 tall rig, fixed keel, inboard diesel, in Baltimore, MD, nice looking boat, starting price was $4,500, no bids posted.
2nd of 5 on Ebay, 1985 C25 swinger, in SC, furler, upgraded upholstery, looked to be well kept, starting $5,500, Buy It Now price $6,100, auction ended, no bidders. An older C25 at our marina, fixed keel, sold last week for $3,500.
The boat in Baltimore has been listed on Craigslist or EBAY before -- last spring if I recall. If it is the same boat it had an asking price of $8,500. While the economy has not cooperated and the used boat market is weak right now -- especially for older boats -- I can't believe that their would be no bids at all for either.
Not that many people are dreaming of buying boats at this time of year in the northern climes... Although I'm going to wander over to the Norwalk (mostly power) show today (in the light rain)--I have free tix, so how bad can it be?

We hear how companies are doing more with less - often at the expense of our leisure time. Gee, I wonder how hunter/gatherer civilations maintained balance between work and sailing?
