Finally had to close the office blinds...watched four sailboats head out this afternoon and I am stuck at my desk Not much wind (maybe 5 knots), but still a beautiful day here on FL's East Coast.
Hope Santa was good to all the boats out there...he brought a new 135 for the W25 and a fresh coat of bottom paint (wish he left a few elves for the labor)on the C25.
I hate to mention this, but I did go sailing today. Winds were 15, gusting to the low 20's, 58 degrees, overcast but became sunny. Sailed with a reefed main and working jib and took some out-of-town friends out for a short sail. Going again tomorrow, winds forecast at 5 and sunny. Music City Bowl <s>Liberty Bowl</s> is being played tonight here in the Music City. great weather for football!
Edit: Brain fart. Liberty Bowl is not in Nashville, duh. I knew that!
We're heading out in the morning Would have been on our way today except for a spontaneous sliding glass door break at home! That cost us more than the day we had planned to get the boat ready.
SL is all buttoned up for the winter, and all I can see from the window at work is the factory across the parking lot from us. I have a friend in Boston whose office looks out on Boston Harbor, he's always posting pictures of tall ships going by on Facebook. Just kills me to see, but glad he posts them.
Glad some of you guys are getting out, and I always enjoy the pictures and stories.
A New Year's Eve Sail? Not for us rugged New Englanders! -- I have been enjoying bonding with a fully shrink wrapped Limerick as I chip away at removing bottom paint -- just getting ready for splashing her this spring!
Going out again today, sunny, high near 60, winds 5-10 out of the south southwest. Unusually warm for us this time of the year. Tomorrow the winds will shift back around to the north blowing that cold Canadian air down our way bringing us back to normal. After I get back home, I think I'll get the icecycle lights down from the gutters.

Got one in the spring. Since there are only two buttons, it takes a while to figure out how to work the thing. And the only other negative, is that it records in MP4. Windows Movie Maker is not compatible. I am going to try Pinnacle Studio HD to edit the videos.
Still learning. Here is a video shot earlier this year:
Carol and I will get out for a New Year day sail tomorrow, should be just about a perfect day. Highs in the mid 70's, west wind 5 to 10. The tides will be against us for the ride to the inlet but the Tohatsu needs a good run anyway. Will bring the camera!
