I've been contemplating buying one of these traps for several years, but the $150/ea price tag put me off of them.

Today I found a guy who was selling two of them for $150, but was keen to make the sale today (apparently he had lots of takers, but I was first, I responded to his ad about 7 minutes after he posted it). I asked him if getting over to his place after the Broncos/Steeler game was OK, and he said he was watching the same game, so no problem.

After we got home, it took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to open one up and get it set for use. Then Rita pointed out that the instructions are printed on a plasticized card in each of the carry bags. D'oh! Getting them folded back up is a bit more involved, but I suspect it'll get easier with experience. They didn't come with their three point bridles, buoy, or sinker ropes, but that's OK, I can make new bridles, and the line & buoys I can get at pretty much any outdoor store around here.

With them folded up into their respective bags, they may well fit in the port or starboard cockpit lockers, but if not, they'll easily fit into one of the settees or hanging in the locker.

We both love eating crabs, but we've only been crabbing together once, so it should be a new fun thing to do together this summer.

Sounds cool! Sadly there are no crabs in Lake ontario or Lake Simcoe.

Sounds like fun ! Sailing and crabbing. I guess you could say that your sailboat is now also a working boat.

David, nice find. After the catch, you can cook on the boat BBQ! What
a feast. Hey, BTW, do you need a special permit for them? Is that spendy?

The rules and regulations are different in Washington State from those in the Chesapeake Bay, and there are different species of crabs that are caught! Cool!

Happy sailing...and crabbing!
