I believe that I need to add two cleats to the Mast.

#1. The Spinnaker halyard( I don't use the Jib Halyard for the ASym as it does not lead nicely to the spinnaker crane at the mast head.)

#2. The Spinnaker Sock control line.

Any recommendations on the type of cleat to use? Size, Metal/Nylon/Other ?

Thanks.
Paul

I've used marelon self jamming, I think it was 4". I mounted it so that it is not vertical but at an angle, the line comes down the mast to the lower end then up to the jamming end. Drilled and tapped for SS screws, I coated the screws with 4200 and hopefully that will minimize corrosion between the SS screws and the aluminum mast.

I think I'd be looking to work the line to the masthead crane by adding a block or fairlead or somesuch. That way, you can use the internal halyard and easily run it back to the cockpit.

Good idea to reduce the risk of corrosion Steve, I'll probably use my favorite compound, butyl, to do that. I'll also keep the screw penetration into the mast void to a minimum.

John, I thought about running the lines back to the cockpit, however, I really need to be up front to handle the sock and to attach/detach the sail tack from the 'tacker' (in my case it's a webbing strap that passes around the furled jib.)

Thanks.
The WM 2012 catalog arrived today, browsed through all of it except the fishing and clothing chapters.

Cam cleat at head/shoulder level for the spin halyard and a horn cleat below the cam cleat for the sock.

I have one horn cleat at waist level for the halyard, which I also use for the sock. When the sock is used, the halyard is always hoisted.
