I didn't get that impression...seems the camera is close to the water giving the impression of more speed, and the flags from the shrouds are flapping normally.

My first thought was "Man that is some speed with very little wind"
NCBrew my first thought was 'Cool'! Then my second thought was 'Cold'! It all looks reasonable to me - I think I enjoyed a day just like that last fall and I'm still dreaming about it.
We get that "effect" here when the wind is out of the east, coming off the flatter land from the east and the boat is on the east side of the lake.. No fetch on the water.
I've seen it one morning when it was just weird, a steady, unchanging wind. Completely flat, smooth water, and the boat is leaned over cutting through the water. Motionless. ( and naturally, I'm standing right on the bow )
Of course I was alone.. but my girlfrnd always notes that I act weird when I say I wanna go sailing cause there is an East wind.
Our prevailings are gusty, from the NW to SW with a fetch.
That's what it's like at Brookville Lake, at the end of the season, after the power boats have stopped coming out, churning up the water. Nice winds and glorious, smooth sailing!
It looks like the boat in the video is doing about 5 - 5 1/2 kts, with no other boats in view and spectacular scenery. The boat looks like a TR, and the genoa is a big decksweeper. Close reaching in 10-12 kts of wind over a short fetch on smooth water would easily generate 5 kts boat speed. It won't be long now for the rest of us!
