Although I called Bamboo sold a week ago or so the sale did not actually happen until yesterday. I met the new owner, Jared Moran at the Seven Seas Marina in Port Orange, FL, signed the title over and then sailed Bamboo 34 miles north with him to his home in Palm Coast. It was a great sail, started out with the wind on our nose but by the time we got 10 miles in it came around for us. We were on a reach most of the day but the wind slowly made it's way clear around to the stern and we had a nice wing on wing going for quite a while. The wind increased from a 3 to 6 in the morning to 15 on our stern in the late afternoon and we were getting 5+ knots against a 2knot+ current. Much fun for Jared's first sail, he loved it. About the only problem we had was old VHF info telling me that the bridge tenders were on channel 13 and now they use 9 or 16, but weren't answering on 16. Anyway we got Bamboo to her new home around 6pm, toasted the deal with a Killians Red and called it good! So now I'll be stretching out my legs on the admiralty forum if you don't mind, cheers!

Welcome to the Admiralty! (...and condolences on being land-locked.) Is there a plan for a new chapter?

I'm looking at Pontoon boats. We shrimp at night with lights and dip nets here and live very close to Mosquito Lagoon with a bunch of islands and great salt water trout and red fish. They're the perfect boat for it. But the reason I sold Bamboo is that I'm investing most of my time at the horse farm my girlfriend owns. 10 acres, 30 horses boarded that need to be fed, fences mended, lawn mowed, etc. Very cool stuff really, enjoying it a lot. In a few years when all this is more manageable or we sell the farm I'll look for another sailboat.
