For any who are looking to have custom woodwork fabricated for their boats, I've come across a member of my AMF Sunbird day sailor forum, John Owens of Troup Texas, who has done some fine work for members at a decent price.

I don't receive a commission or spiff, but when a solid vendor who stands behind his work comes along, I appreciate learning about it, and I think many others will too.

The Sunbird is a 16 footer with an 8' cockpit, and it has a cuddy up front for storage and tools. He's built a variety of covers for the cuddy opening out of mahogany, teak and other hardwoods.

Teak World Enterprises, also known as Tommy's Teak World, is an excellent resource for custom wood work. He fixed one of my hatch boards very nicely and at a reasonable price. Like Bruce, I receive no commissions or other remuneration if you use them.
