Here's a nice shot of past association Commodore Jim Baumgart's "dream boat," a refurbished Pearson Flyer (30') <i>Sly McFly</i>. Jim has a full schedule of ocean races out of San Diego, dueling head-to-head with J-30s and the like. He used to do the same races in his C-25, but watched the fleet sail away, hoping to correct over some C-30s... and sometimes missed the after-race parties altogether. He's in "heaven" now--definitely a threat to the fleet.
I sailed with Jim on his Catalina--he's a fun guy and an excellent seaman. I wish him lots of trophies and some line-honor wins over the Js!
