I just did a write up on fixing our noisy sliding hatch on my blog page. We seem to have solved that problem a little differently than some posts I found on the forum.

Stamp "Marine Grade" on the back of the leftover gasket, and you can sell it on the swap meet for $20 per strip!

Very clever fix!

Great idea. Will use your solution on my sliding hatch. Guess I'll have to wake the others in the marina with something else.
