SO ... the helicopter flies over real close and LOW and takes a picture of us sailing and the pontoon on the helicopter says "boatpic.com" and I go to the webpage.

The first page asks for information to make an "Inquiry" to show if they have a picture of my boat. The next page asks for everything about me.. Boat reg number, name, address, phone, email, ( and will not submit unless all fields are entered ), and the third page asks for my visa number...

All before you can even see your possible image. They sell a 16x20 for $250. $500 for the digital file copyright free. $700 for 2 files and $1000 for all files they took.

I feel violated. Talk about data mining..

This borders on surveillance.... and should be illegal.

But anyhoo.. interesting business model.. Is this a nationwide company?

Yeah they've been doing that around here for a long time. But you can do almost as good with a mini-cam and a box kite!

Personally.. I'm thrilled that anyone with a camera can carve out a living.. But it is a little creepy.

My joke nowadays is you can make more money with a Tuba than you can with a camera...

That's strange that they gave them to you without a watermark. I would have done the same thing, and so would anyone else without a watermark in it.

As usual... anybody is a photographer... Turns out their photographers are actually pilots getting time in the copter for their commercial licenses.

But can they play a Tuba?

The gave me a fly by on Pensacola Bay last year, I went to the website and decided the cost was a little too high.
