Hi all, I've added an update to my blog with more information about my new Torqeedo electric motor. Enjoy... Bill Holcomb - C25 Snickerdoodle #4839
Bill, thanks for the post and update. What a wonderful Blog. I too am a "Green Guy". I was very interested in that motor buy had concerns sailing in the Pacific. If I were sailing in a lake, its a no brainer. Like you, most sailing I do is day sails. But from time I do go to Catalina Island, about 30-36 miles away. There have been times there was NO wind and I had to motor over. Also I have been in churning waters and glad I had a stronger gas engine. I hope by the time I need my next outboard, prices will come down and power increase. I was looking at the 4.0, tiller steering, long shaft. Price $4000 plus I would want extras. Ouch! But check out my story in the new upcoming Mainsheet re my environmentally friendly bottom paint. Steve A
