PRICE REDUCED Trail Rite Trailer for Sale - Set-up for Catalina 250 Water Ballast Boat
This is a heavily built double axle Trail Rite galvanized trailer in great shape with surge brakes on the forward axle. The trailer has a sturdy ladder welded to the tongue of the trailer to allow boarding the boat from the bow, while on the trailer. Trailer bunks, keel guides, and keel platform have all been replaced with treated lumber and covered with heavy duty carpeting made for boat trailers, within the past month. The trailer has bearing buddies on all 4 wheels; wiring and lights are in good working order. So she is ready to travel with your boat.
I purchased my Catalina 250 and this trailer in Arkansas in 2009. This is a nicely balanced trailer that tracks well and I had no problem pulling the boat and trailer here to Florida. I launched the Catalina in our freshwater canal system and never used the trailer again. So the trailer has never been in salt water; springs have been kept oiled and the tires regularly sprayed with 303 Aerospace Protectant for UV protection. The Catalina 250 lives on a boat lift at our home when she is not sailing, and there is a full-service marina just 3-miles away by water, so I decided to sell the trailer. Listed on Ebay 9/16/12 with starting bid of $1,000 and "Buy It Now" for $1,500.

Can the trailer be adjusted for a C-25 swing keel?
How old is trailer/tires?
Where in FL?
Thanks,
John

Sorry John, there are no adjustments on the trailer. The bumks are bolted directly to struts which are welded to the trailer frame. I'm guessing the C-25 swing keel might be wider than the board on the C250 board. I have pictures of the trailer, but don't know how how to post them. If you want me to email them, let me know.

The trailer and I are in Port Charlotte, FL, about 40 miles north of Ft Myers on the west coast. The tires were new in 2009 and show no sign of cracking or checking and have lots of tread. As mentioned they have been treated with 303, which is a UV blocker.

This is an awesome deal folks! I have no interest in this sale, just trying to point it out.

While adjustments would not be as simple as loosening a few bolts it can still be adjusted by a good welder or a place that sells trailers (doesn't have to be boat a trailer dealer). Just looking at the pictures, it won't take that much to adjust this trailer to fit a swing or wing keel C25.

I bought a trailer 3 years ago that was 2 years old, in the same condition as this trailer, built very similar, and was set up for a Hunter 260.

I had to lengthen some of the bunk supports and shorten some others and I had to have an extra cross support beam installed so the keel would have something to rest on. I have approx. $600 invested in the adjustments. I've got $2,100 invested in a now 5 year old trailer that has less than 100 miles on it. New trailers similar to the one Ron is selling above go for well over $5k new!!!

BTW, I don't think the trailer above will need all of the adjustments mine did.

Just my $.02 worth. Take it for what it's worth.

Someone! Jump on this deal!!!
