You should be able to ship the mast via a flat bed truck and ask the trucking company to ship it as a partial load so you only pay for part of the truck. The risk you take is getting a driver that doesn't know/care about damaging the mast during transit.
Another option that might be a little safer would be to see if you can catch a boat moving company that's got a truck coming across country that could piggy-back the mast and boom.
FYI - Day and Ross will do part loads. (ie. a mast) Not sure how their pick-up/delivery works or if you would have to transport teh mast to their depot.
