Besides a bulkhead mount compass, I am also looking for a Signet depth finder. Mine works but the LCD dispay is not working properly. Anybody have one laying around?

Hi Binky, I have one on my boat that I just bought this summer but it's either acting up or I just don't know how to use it properly. Im ussually pretty good at setting anything electronic but this little box just screams at me all the time! (Lol) It was the only thing that I did not get a manual for, do you know of where I can find one online? (i searched pretty hard) I was just cursing it earlier this afternoon in fact under sail. If it turns out that it's shot, I'll be happy to give you the LCD off of mine. Steve
Binky thanks so much for the link! My previous searches for signet led me on a wild goose chase. I'll know more tomorrow but I'm suspecting the shallow tidal creek that I launch out of and the look ahead feature being incorrectly set is what is making the thing wail right now. I'll keep you posted.
Let me know how it works out for you. There may be a battery in there that you may have to disconnect to reset the set switch. I didn't read the manual thoroughly but thought I saw something about that. Good luck with it.
FWIW -- I shifted and went with the Raymarine basic ST40 system with transducer reading through the hull -- all in @$200.00 via Defender at their spring warehouse sale
We have a Signet Depth finder/Speed aboard "Leprechaun" and We have sent the head unit back to Signet to get Calibrated/cleaned/checked including the "Y" cable. They did a good job and sent it back within a reasonable persiod of time.. We eventually bought a new SL250 unit and also a new transducer as our units were 25 years old and after so many servicings it was cheaper to replace. Aaron Hall is who I spoke with at Signet and he was responsive.
