So I did the prerequisite search for subjects on sail repair, sail cleaning. This is my second season on the sails of unknown condition. They look OK, but thought I would send them off to a sail loft to be cleaned, closely examined, and let them tell me how "blown out" they really are. we have a full batten main and 150% genny. The silk at the back of each batten pocket is toast, and def needs a good cleaning. It is a bolt foot main, so would trust their measurements on stretch. I also noticed in my last sail one small pinhole that perhaps resin would catch (it really looked tiny)

Anyway, post up your opinions and recommendations on lofts. We are on the great lakes, Huron side is a closer haul and unaware of any local lofts:

North Sails
Neil Pride
SailCare - mixed reviews, high volume loft
Ballard Sails
Mariner Sails
True North Sailing Services
Bacon Sails
Sail Warehouse - used sails
National Sail Supply
Ullman

I've only used Sail Care, but I would recommend them. The sails come back clean and crisp, almost like new. They've also patched spots and restitched lettering. All results good.

I have been completely happy with Sailcare's cleaning process and some minor repairs. I am currently having Sailor's Tailor (see links page) do a more extensive repair on my main and replace my roller g.'s UV strip. I've had very nice work from them on other things and a pretty reasonable estimate for this sail work.
