I enjoyed your article in Good Old Boat. It was very polished and informative.

Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang! Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang!

Every time I see a steam engine I get the itch to buy one. There's just something about them that makes me want one but I don't know why.

Have a great trip!

When I was a kid my Grandfather bought me a working model steam engine. Last time I was in the UK I saw the identical one in a High Street toy and hobby store. It was made by a German company and are still available. The price was a little steep at £250-300. But if you want something like that you can purchase them online.

Congratulation on your article! You are a gentleman and a scholar!!!
I've spent a lot of time in the Netherlands - Amsterdam of course but stayed in Hilversum, Maastricht, Eindhoven.
Wonderful country filled with the some of the most intelligent and hardworking people I've ever met. I count many Dutchmen and women here and there as my good friends. Almost everyone speaks English so it makes getting around and doing business a pleasure.
Hope you're enjoying the sea weather!

Thank you for the comments guys... you make us feel part of the family

We're staying, for 5 weeks, in someones house who, through placing a request in a church bulletin, made it available to us while they are vacationing in Portugal... How much better can you get it!!

Right across the Dutch population spectrum people are tightening their belts and soberly recognize that what was, is changing. Even though the economy and its effects on the average taxpayer is debated at nausea each family seems, albeit grudgingly, to be doing their share in this organized, affluent, energetic and industrious country. We love it, still speak Dutch including 2 dialects and enjoy the culture very much
