---------- SOLD ------------

I bought this spinnaker last year, and never even had a chance to fly it! It's used, but appears to be in very good shape. It measures 19' x 25' x 24' 6". I'm asking $400 or best reasonable offer.

Dragonwing was standard rig. Just curious, wouldn't a spinnaker that fit a standard also work (perhaps not as efficiently) on a tall rig?

You can use a standard rig spinnaker on a tall rig but tall rig spinnaker on a standard rig won't work.

Do you have an email address where I could reach you offline?

If you PM me, it goes to my home E-mail.

I have a prospective buyer who is local and to whom I'm supposed to sell it on Saturday, but I'd really prefer to sell it to someone from the Association.

I'd love to have it but understand having a buyer in hand. What's you're bottom dollar?

A dollar more than he is willing to pay for it! :)

Ok, more seriously, when new they are almost $1000 (see http://www.catalinadirect.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=1213&ParentCat=120). I don't expect to get anywhere near $1000 for it. To my untrained eye, it looks to be in good shape, and I never had any reservations about trying to fly it. My asking price is close to what I bought it for, but a reasonable offer would probably be OK, too.

While I'm drooling (I want it) at your sail my wife just reminded me Christmas is coming shortly. After talking it over with her, what I can afford to offer would not be near what you would/should get for it so I'd better pass on it for now.

I know how that goes...I'm hearing much the same! :) Although, compared to the cost of a new boat, the chute is cheap. Heck, it would make a great Christmas present for you! I'll even throw in the screens we've been discussing! I also have a bag that I made for the crib boards/companionway boards, and I'd throw that in, too.

You are correct about the cost of a new boat VS this chute. It's very tempting but as I said, what I can afford to offer is no where near what you're asking. A different time of the year and we could probably work a deal.

Fair enough, and I completely understand. Just had to needle you a bit! :)

If the deal falls through this weekend, I'll let you know. I'm not in a rush to sell it.

He didn't. When we headed to my in-law's place at the shore Friday, I forgot to pack the sail. Someone else scooped it up today, though. Sorry!
