I noticed that a member had unsuccessfully uploaded a .bmp image.
The system does not accept the .bmp image format, sorry folks.
So if your images are in the .bmp format (not a good choice for the web) then just open it in your favorite image editor (I use Corel PaintShop Pro X4) and save it as a .png or .gif, or .jpg.
Also, make sure your images are at least 550px wide and 400px tall, they will not process nicely if smaller than that.
So if you want to create a Signature Image, just upload an image and use the 'insert in forum' tool, then get the code to insert into your signature in order to display the thumbnail image.
Paul Nice Photo Gallery. Thanks for putting it together. I have Windows Photo Editor to perform the file conversion from BMP to JPG.
As a sailor and a digital media guy I worry about navigation. I see you've created categories and collection - nice. Now, Taxonomy.... I see search, but is there a directory below the top view?
Once a collection gets kind of large, it becomes a trick trying to find stuff. Search uses keywords. How are the keywords extracted? It may require that tags be optional or required in each person's gallery. What kind of data structure do you have under the galleries? From what I can see there is: .Category ..Gallery Title or Username ...Photo title ....Photo description
Is there a database? Any way to extract keywords or tags? Anyway to query the descriptions and automatically create keywords?
Could be a full time job but I wondered whether that's an option.
