We are scheduled to close on a S2 35C next week. My wife and I really like the layout of the center cockpit boat and we have been looking into this model, along with a few others, for a while now. So, as much as I hate to part with it, our 89 Wing 'Evenstar' will soon be for sale.

Palmetto isn't quite waterfront... Where is the actual boat? And why truck it? Retire and drink the koolaid! 8~} evil grin x2!

The only warning I feel obliged to offer up, is that in heavy seas, a CC does in fact have more motion with the ocean. That been said, the below decks are ALWAYS more comfortable.
We have a less severe case of the same disease; my wife loved our first season in salt water and we are planning to use some inheritance money to upgrade from our C25.
We are 'looking' at 2 Bristol 29.9 boats in our area; we can't waste anyone's time until we have the money (late spring? hope. hope.) so 'looking' just means checking out the boat online and thinking "wouldn't that be nice?".
The big deal is that 'we' are buying a boat. This time last year, I sold 'my' C18 and bought a C25. Now 'we' are going to look at boats together; could be the start of something beautiful.
My brother bought a Bristol 32 a few weeks ago and it really turned me on to these fine boats.
Sten - the boat is in South Carolina and IS only a stone's throw from the ICW - that trip will need to wait a few more years, though. I do expect the motion to be more pronounced - at least with waves abeam.
Ben - the transport prices on Yachtworld are probably in the ball park for like sized boats and distance for travel. Add to that the de-commission and re-commission to deal with rigging and mast, etc.
Dave - Irwin 37 and 38s were also on our 'possibility' list along with the Pearson 385. We wanted to stay under 40 in hopes that we can still handle the sails etc. as the years go by. Often the under 40 center cockpits can have a 'wedding cake' look to them, but we like the looks of the S2.
Well, it won't be like the flying bridge on a Bayliner , but there will be a little more lateral motion... and as I said, a great view! I think you'll like it! (Got a survey worked into the deal?)
Bristol is obviously a whole different category (along with Cape Dory and others of that influence)--I wish I could claim a relationship, but the spelling gives me away. I always wondered if I'd ever own a boat I would name Bristle's Bristol, although that doesn't turn out to be as amusing as I might have hoped. (A long time back, a friend did try to get me to buy his Bristol 22.)
