Can any of the northwest Ohio sailors recommend a company that does boat grahics? I want to re-name my new boat before it goes in the water and am fishing for recommendations. :)
I went to a local FastSigns franchise for my boat names. I don't remember what it cost, but at the time it was much cheaper than marine outfits, including BoatUS. Before having them cut the name, they gave me color samples which I used to match the new name with the boot stripe.
Check and see if you have a local franchise of American Graphics. I've used them many times for various decals and they do excellent work and are far less expensive than anywhere else.

Thanks guys. I was hoping to find a place that would also place the name on the boat. I'm afraid I wouldn't line it up right if I tried it myself. Would Fastsigns, American Graphics or BoatUS be able to do that?
BoatUS won't mount it for you, but, they send you the tools to do it yourself with complete instructions. It was fairly easy, and I did mine from the dinghy while the boat was in the water.

Ben,
The boat name letters I purchased from FastSigns came on a continuous sheet so I didn't have to line up the individual letters. I'm sure most, if not all graphics, come this way. The graphic came with peel off paper on both sides so you can stick it to the hull and once that is done, you then peel off the outer paper.

Just clean and dry the area thoroughly. You can establish your line with a light pencil line, or with a strip of masking tape. With masking tape, you can step back and look at it and see if it is lined up to your satisfaction, before you apply the name. If not, you can change it. After you have established your line, just apply the name carefully along that line.

Thanks! I chose the blue to follow the color theme of the sunbrella. It was so inexpensive that I thought I could change it if I didn't like it, but I'm happy with it, just as it is.
Ben, Congratulations! Good choice, when we were looking, we were tossed up between the beneteau and our NEW to us Catalina 310 which we just took possesion of. We are at Herls Harbor on Catawba Island. there are three former Catalina 25 owners, a couple of current owners and Catalina 30's , pearsons etc. Almost reminds us of the Catalina 25 regattas in Cleveland! Best wishes to you and new boat! we look forward to seeing you out on the Lake! We have not put the 25 up for sail yet, waiting for snow to go away and sails are coming back from the sailmaker, they were just given the annual go over! We had not intended to move up BUT found a boat we loved! Sad to let the 25 go up for sail but... Not a two boat owner!
