We're pretty diligent about weeding out the spam, the spammers are equally diligent about posting all kinds of stuff in here. If you see something offensive or off topic simply post its link here: [url="http://www.catalina-capri-25s.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20628"]Forum Complaints[/url] and one of the moderators will take care of it fairly promptly. The link can be found generally at the top of your browser where they are displayed. Copy & paste the entire link of the offending thread (it'll look something like this: http://www.catalina-capri-25s.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20628) in the complaint link above, which will allow us to easily find & delete the link. Paul or one of the other officers will then block the IP address of the author so they can no longer post from that address. This doesn't keep them from posting from another IP address, but it makes it harder for them.

Dave, can you post the links as I've shown in my earlier post? I've searched for the posts you're talking about and don't see them. It's quite possible one of the other staff has already taken care of them, but if not, please post the links in the complaint forum so they can be.

I took a quick look as well. There seems to be a correlation between number of posts (<= 5 or so), number of contact methods (Yahoo, MSN, etc., >2 or so), similarities in name (multiple instances of very similar names), and some other factors that we could use to put together a list of suspect names in the database.

Something like:
SELECT * FROM databaseTableName WHERE numberOfPosts <= 5 AND numberOfContactMethods >=2 AND numberOfCoolLinks > 1 AND numberOfRecentTopics < 2 AND name LIKE suspiciousName;

Not exactly perfect SQL syntax, but something along those lines to find a list of suspects that could probably be culled after a review by staff.
