I think this will depend on where you live. I usually try my closest West Marine store, I also have a couple of sailing stores near by, NewJSI and Masthead enterprises. For online purchases I have used West Marine, Defender and Overtons.
Defender's warehouse is 20 minutes from my home, so the WM store I can walk to matches their prices (except for WM brand products). Hard to beat that combination.
I went to marine-products.com and searched for "blocks"--not sure what I was looking at, except there was nothing a line would go through. The site is rather crude.

Very well said.
I sometimes pay more when I shop at my local Chandlery... but you get what you pay for. Sometime I go in with something in mind and I walk out with something else. Or with nothing and with more homework to do.
Also why not CatalinaDirect?? they have majority of the items that you might need for repairs/improvements. And I'm always blown away with their customer support on the phone.
Marine-Products.com appears to be primarily for powerboat gear. There is some overlap, but not enough that most sailboat owners would be familiar with it. Overtons is another large online boating source that is primarily selling power boat equipment.
I do most of my shopping at Fisheries Supply, which is local and the west coast equivalent to Defender. I tend to buy electronics from Defender because that is one area where Fisheries has poor pricing. I do a little tiny bit at West Marine because there is one at my marina. In a recent thread on Sailnet people expressed happiness with Hodges Marine (noting that it had very low prices on electronics), but I haven't used them personally.
I like www.binnacle.com if my local guy doesn't have what I need - been in their brick and mortar store as well as shopping online. Free shipping over $100, and good advice over the phone. But sometimes you have to wait while they go pick an item off the shelf to check that it is what you want or whatever.
And there are planty parts that aren't specific to our boats that can be bought anywhere. Like BBQ's.
