Hello everyone. Our boat has been on land for the past few years. We are going to try and get it back in the water but there is so much to be done. I knwo the shrouds are pretty beat up. Is that a big deal to replace? Is the kit from Catalina Direct all premeasured? Is it something I can do with the mast down?
Thanks.

You need to have the mast down, and CD's shrouds fit my boat like the proverbial glove. My local rigger couldn't match their cost--he said to buy from them and he would do the intall. I could have done it, but I wanted him to check everything for me in the process. Others have reporting having them made for less than CD's price...
Thanks. The boat is in my yard. I am wondering if the people that transport the boat and put it in the water can install them when they sep the mast of if I can do anything ahead of time like initial attachments. I will have to ask.
I just launched my C-25 this past weekend and had no issues with raising my mast on the water. It took two guys on the boat and two guys on the marina dock, pulling a previously installed spinnaker line, to raise the mast without a ginpole or any other devices. You can do this with enough bodies touching the mast, however make sure that the rear and side shouds - and the backstay are installed (very loose) & front shouds are disconnected --and do not become entangled in anything as you are lifting the mast. I was too busy raising the mast and forgot to take any pictures (sorry). Also make sure you have the correct pin for the forestay so that the second person on the boat can pin it while you and the two guys on the dock are holding the mast straight up. Once you have the forestay pinned and locked, attach the forward shrouds and the rest is just tuning your rigging per specs. I have a LOOS guage and it becomes really easy to tune with it. Also, make sure that once you are done adjusting, take one last round and make sure the turnbuckle locking nuts are tight. Let us know how it goes...
