Came across this today: <blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration issued an emergency recall of 55,000+ propane cylinders manufactured by The Lite Cylinder Company.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
The Catalina 36 association has a thread going on it, and I know Catalina used the tanks for newer boats, not sure if it applies to any of ours.
The company is out of business & bankrupt, so they can't comply with the requirements in the recall, so I think the PHMSA is just having people get their tanks vented professionally & calling it good (don't quote me on that).

Just saw your note, and it sent me in to a mild panic since I just refilled my LP bottle two days ago. I wouldn't want to have to pay to empty out a defective cylinder.
The recalled cylinders are made out of a composite material. My C250 has a traditional metal cylinder, though it's smaller than found in a gas grill, and from what I've read it is difficult to replace without having to modify the plastic box that it goes into. That's why I was relieved to get it refilled, since at my usage rate this refill will last me 10+ years.
