I have a 2003 C250 wing keel and have a leak in the head area apparently coming from the junction between the deck and the hull. The water is stained but is not coming from the holding tank or plumbing. Does anyone have any ideas where I might look for a leak?

A few possible leak sources in the head:

Check the bedding around the opening port. That's a common source of leaks. Even if the bedding is good, there sometimes are stress fractures in the plexiglas from where they cut the hole.

I was able to fix my leak using Cap'n Tolley's Crack Cure.

However, the fact that your water is stained indicates that it could be coming from somewhere else.

Also, check to make sure your screen is inserted in the opening port. The screen frame acts as a gasket that seals the opening port. If it's missing then you would definitely have a leak. Replacement screens are easily obtained from Catalina Direct. (My screen was never missing, but I know others whose were.)

Another leak that brought water in my head was actually in the battery compartment. I have a full marine head and the waste hose goes all the way back to a holding tank behind the battery. The rainwater leaking in back there would travel along the outside of the waste hose, all the way to the head. Once I fixed that leak, the water in the head disappeared. If you have a Porta-Potti, this would not be relevant to you.

sometimes stained colored leaks can be from moisture coming through balsa cored deck
usually stantion base or winch base
my stained leak was from wiring plug at mast tabernackle a simple clean and fresh sealant cured it

Didn't know you could get replacement screens, ours never had one, didn't even know they came with them. I'll have to get one ordered. Our port in the head doesn't leak though.
