"The clink of an anchor - chain, the 'Yo-Ho!' of a well time crew, the flapping of huge sails - I love all these sounds."
As I was motoring toward Catawba Island the other day with around 2 knots of wind I was wishing I had a drifter. Not sure I can afford it right now but, just in case, what's the luff? I'm think it will be too long for my standard rig 250 but, ya never know.
Te colorful headsail in my signature is a Gleason Spinnaker drifter that came with the boat, although mine was 150 sized.Probably was not made for the tall rig C-25, but I loved it, and it was the sail I used most of the time.
This is a great sail for the days when it is less than 10 knots, very lightly used by us as we moved from an inland lake to Lake Erie and it was never used there. It is sized for a tall rig but it can be cut down if you wished. Remember, the headsail is the engine of our boats! David, That is also a sharp sail! I can send photos to anyone interested.
Very interest in getting this from you Alan. Could you send me pics to sszalai@gmail.com Also please let me know what size bead it has for the Furler foil... I'm assuming we all use a pretty standard size, Any idea what the aprox luff is? Push comes to shove I can cut the foot and sew it back up to meet my height. Much thanks, Steve
The guy who bought my C-25 has added a furler and had the nearly new 135 that went with the boat converted for the furler. I'm not sure what he's going to do with the other head sails.
