Cool! First time I've seen the lock-turns being tossed on. I can toss on the other turns to spring into a dock--I'll have to watch closer and work on that one so I can amaze the guys at the Mystic Seaport. (I need to see her do it to a dock cleat from a boat.)
I can do the over the top throws (not anywhere near as efficiently as her), on the dock. As Dave points out, it'd be a whole lot more useful to most of us to be able to do it from the boat, which I don't think I've ever even tried. Since I've started coming in a bit hotter than I used to, I'd hate to miss and crunch my dock box or worse, bow.
Now the locking turns? That's a good trick. I noticed she puts a half turn right next to her hand just before she leans down to do a locking turn. As she throws, the half turn travels down the line which I think is the "easy" part. Getting the turn over the horn of the cleat is where the skill comes in. To be able to do it fast & repeatably is where she becomes the "master".
