How wonderful it must be to live in the part of America with an early American sailing history. Buttersworth Blunt, boats boats boats.

A picture of Magic, the first defender of the America's Cup!

Tuned into that as well last night. Kept looking for Dave's stinkpot in the harbor scenes. He must have been at the Roadshow trying to put a price to his empty rum bottle collection.

I missed the episode--Hartford? Ya, I wanted to get an appraisal on my bustle collection. I'm guessing they visited the gallery at Mystic Seaport... Sarge doesn't quite add to that scene--the big Honda spoils it. (But it works for me.)

Boats, boats, boats... Paintings, photos (the Rosenfeld collection), real boats like the Seaport's own Brilliant, which set a transatlantic record,...

You can charter her... or for a lot less, you can charter the smaller Araminta for a daysail with a captain (not me)...

Then there are the private vessels in the area, like Spartan...

...and the prettiest $+!nkp*+ ever made, the 1937 "commuter yacht" (made for a Wall Street tycoon) Aphrodite...

For complete sensory overload, come to the huge Wooden Boat Show at the Seaport next June. It has everything from kayaks that are works of inlay art, to the vessels shown above. Sarge will be patrolling the area--a plastic interloper.
