Greetings from the frozen eastern shore of Lake Michigan! My family and I have finally been acquired by a 1984, traditional interior, fin keel, standard rig, soon-to-be-renamed C25. Although she doesn't have a name on her that I can find, we'll play it safe and officially de-name her as soon as it's warm enough to pour a libation that won't freeze on the way to the hull. Being an old Navy destroyerman, Plankowner and Shellback I try to pay attention to traditions that most folks would refer to as "superstitions".
Joining the association and looking over all of the great improvements many of you have made to your boats may have been a mistake; I now have about 4 years worth of projects on the "someday" list, on top of the normal cleanup and maintenance our new baby will need when the snow melts. Although I've been fixing things for a living for 25 years, and love to tackle new projects, I have to keep reminding myself that the reason we became boatowners is to SAIL... as often and as long as possible.
Impatiently awaiting the spring thaw, Pat and Debbie
Welcome to the association. Membership not only supports this forum but the web site and gets you four issues of the Mainsheet each year. You have one of the finest little coastal cruisers and I think you’ll find you’re now part of great community of sailors. So welcome and after the great lake thaws out have a great season and enjoy finding just the right name for her. Traditions are important.
