Post pictures, it is a rare configuration. I believe yo can switch the forward hatch for the Lewmar that came in the 89. I missed the solid forward hatch though, the lexan or whatever let too much solar gain through and made the boat hot inside. Do you have the new deep anchor locker? It will have a drain on the side of the bow rather than the front of the bow. You do not have the full toe rail track of the older boats but I think you do have the inboard tracks sunk into the deck like the '89.

Congrats!! The rudder was probably painted without the mold release wax being removed. A nit.

Fire away!

It has the smaller anchor locker, very shallow with the drain coming straight forward to the stem. It does have about ten feet of inboard tracks for the Genoa, but they are not sunk into thedeck, just bolted on, could have been added later, it also has a track along the rail that is about the same length, ten feet. Changing out the forward hatch would make my wife happy! she is 5'4" and can stand up inside- perfect! so she would really like the additional light up forward if I ever change out the hatch, but it looks like some fiberglass work would be required to make it fit, the fiberglass hatch seems to countour around the coach roof, while I am sure the Lewmar hatch will require a perfectly flat surface to mount the frame. Anyway, I could easily double the cost of this boat this winter with projects! anyway, will get some photos onsite thursday or fri.
Cheers,
Scott

Congratulations on your purchase. I'm sure she will give you guys years of great fun and wonderful memories.
The inboard tracks will allow you to sheet in the head sail a bit tighter, especially the working jib - should help your pointing to windward.

Hey, I guess I neglected to consider the 5'4" or so standing room in the Catalina 25 when marrying my wife 40 years ago! She has to crouch unless the pop top is up. Otherwise, we've had a wonderful marriage!

Was that bad planning?

Happy sailing with your new boat!

Everybody lives with their errors. My wife says she thought if she married an older guy I would kick the bucket while she was young enough to enjoy the inheritance. Now she realizes that she should have married a younger guy so she could retire while he still works.
