In this month's Practical Sailor newsletter, there was a discussion about several navigation applications for iOS. There were a number of full featured systems each with plusses and minuses (proprietary formats, etc). Among the packages being discussed was a simple app called iSailor that includes waypoints, routes, data imports and exports, live charting, etc. The app itself is free and the regional charts are between $4.99 and $12.99 on the app store. I purchased the NYC to CapeCod charts. Aside from the British-isms, the package is easy to use and clear at wide scale and up close & personal. I believe the charts are raster instead of vector-based. Has anybody used the app aboard their boat?
