I am looking for a used Mercury 6 HP, 4-stroke OB motor carburetor, complete. I was just told that my carb is broken and is missing the idle stop plate that is part of the body of the carb. Apparently this part is not sold separately, so I am told that I need to buy a new one...... unless I can find a used one to cannibalize the part from.....

The part number given to me by the mechanic is 3303-804766T03

Any help would be appreciated.

Check the stampings on the carb to see if it was supplied by a 3rd party. You might find it under the supplier's name/model. That might help to broaden your search. For instance, my 50hp Force outboard has a Tillotson TC-102A carburetor.

Why put up a post and never look at it again. 5 days later and the carb you were looking for is now sold.
