Was hoping all of this was a bad April Fool's joke.
Get well, everyone. And for those who aren't mending, be careful. I don't like hearing these stories.
I broke my arm on a Friday in 1997. I was prepping my Trophy fishing boat for vacation and fell overboard - onto land, since it was on the trailer. Ouch! I'm lucky I didn't crack my skull, since I had tripped and was going down headfirst. So instead of leaving on vacation on Saturday, I was in surgery getting the arm fixed. I was pulling the kids on waterskis by Sunday. But no skiing for me that year.
I did the "cold water challenge" with a couple of friends, but I managed to find a rock at the bottom of the rope swing. Fortunately, I think I have friends who can help me get the mast up and boat in the water, so I just have to get to the point where I am stable enough to climb on the cabin to raise the sails. It will still probably be June before I am feeling that brave though. I am barely able to put any weight on it now but am hoping to at least get out for a few hours by the end of the week. Being tied up in the house is enough to drive any guy crazy!
