Darn I didn't know he was here... I hope he's just changing to something else and not leaving sailing! That would be one of the nicer boats on our lake right now.
Great price: with a trailer no less. Newly overhauled 9.9: OK, could be an older 9.9 New paint: nice to see some maintenance New standing rigging: 10 year old rigging replaced... OK. New mast: ??
Could be great boat, but taken together, that is an interesting list.

It's been a few years since I met up with him, but I think his boat is right here - just one cove up from yours.

Thanks Rick,
Confirmation that there was some event in the boat's past is enough to satisfy my curiosity. I was merely interested in putting the puzzle pieces together and did not intend to cast aspersions.
If the boat is as nice as you report, then it is a great deal and surely won't last long.
Rick, it's a small lake... he pretty much had to be one of two places... Lighthouse Harbor used to be a Catalina Dealer too... not sure if they still are. I was actually going to call and ask the other day, to see if they'd draw up a quote for a 275 ;)...
I'm getting frustrated with attempts to sell my boat. I honestly didn't expect to have a problem. My boats not perfect for sure, but it's had a LOT of the hard work done to it already. Also figured someone from the club would snatch it up, given that I've managed in one year to move up from 13th place to 2nd, maybe they think it's the sailor? Neah, they should know better.
But yeah, I've seen him sail that boat before, it's in beautiful shape. I'd actually be happier if he sold his boat (over mine). It's a tough market, and worse, a narrow market.
