The PO of my C25 lost the pump handle for the manual bilge pump located in the cockpit. Does anyone know how or where to get a replacement handle? Should I just replace the pump? If so, what replacement models have folks used to fit the stock location?
Time was when my then toddler tested everything on the boat to see which items made the biggest splash, or if any thing didn't, the little BUGGER
I then found a piece of aluminum tubing that fit and used it until one day the handle turned up in some remote part of the boat and to think that I blamed the little ANGLE I'm sure one could be secured from Catalina Direct ( 1 800 959 7245)
I don't know what happened to the original manual bilge pump handle on my boat ... when I bought her it had been replaced with a short piece if aluminum conduit ... 'works fine!
Val, Our older boy, 6, refers to the younger, almost 3, as Mr. Little Hands. May I ask how long do you think I have to put up with said child splash testing everything from Keys to winch handles?

My youngest is seven and hasn't thrown anything overboard lately only because he hasn't been on board. I'll keep an eye on him next time he's aboard. Val on the hard DAGNABIT
My youngest is ten, and I'm trying to balance the fact that sailing is supposed to be fun with the fact that he has to exercise a bit of self-discipline to keep it safe. I hope that the two basic rules (1)"One hand for the ship, one hand for yourself." and (2)"A place for everything, and everything in its place." will help.

My 2 oldest never when thru that stage, my daughter now 7.5 had a brief episode with the splash testing. We have a rule at the house (If you break something of mine I break something of yours). At that time she was 5 she threw an item overboard I grabbed one of her toys and acted as if I threw it into the drink she cried. 2 weeks later I gave her the toy back. She has not thrown anything in since.

Let's see. I helped a friend move a boat up river in the fall several years ago, and I must have been um, er for ... um-ty five, and I (accidently) pushed a winch handle into the Chicago River. so how long do you have? Perhaps a lifetime!

You only have to "put up with it" until said "child" has procured some form of income. Then they just have to pay for whatever they splash overboard.
