We had begun renovation of a Catalina 25 in the spring and now need to sell it as-is due to buying a cruising boat that needs all of our time and resources. We have it listed on eBay, starting bid $1.00 and no reserve. We are prepared to lose everything we have into it in order to be able to focus on the cruising boat.
My blog, showing everything that has been done to the boat to date and the state of it's de-construction is here http://www.oldragbaggers.com
This could be a good deal for someone who likes to work on boats. It's a solid hull and we've gotten it started. It's located on the hard in Pasadena Maryland.
Maybe the best features for that boat are (1) this organization and forum, and (2) Catalina Direct. No older fiberglass boat I know of is supported as well.
Best of luck--with this and your new project! (And good luck finding this level of support, information, and advice!).
I'm sure all yards are not created equal but, when I was looking at a parts boat I had a local yard tell me they'd take the hull for the keel and dispose of the glass themselves. It was a C27 and at that time the keel would have been worth almost $2000.
I'm not sure, saw the boat posted fresh on our local craigslist yesterday. I was gonna find out if there was a couple things from the boat I could buy. Maybe help out another catalina owner?? Lol
