My former boat which I sold 10 years ago on ebay. looks like the new owner took things apart and never fixed anything. My brother recognized it and sent me the link.

Well, you can't say he's sugar-coating it.

Let's see... A couple of years of year-round storage to part it out, then disposal of the hull... I guess I could take it for $20K (he pays me.)

So sad, almost criminal -- Cheoy Lee built a solid boat. With reasonable care the present owner would have a fine vessel, but instead it is but a big project for someone with time AND money! I feel your angst!

Always sad to hear of the demise of a sailing vessel. Two I am familiar with and been aboard was the Mimi - Gloucester, MA which had her own TV adventure series, and HMS Bounty. The first was not dramatic, just wasted away. The last was in super storm Sandy.

It is solid! over an inch thick fiberglass at the bottom of the hull. I'd hate to try to cut it up with an sawzall! need an excavator to break it up. I feel it would have been better if she had sunk.
