75 & sunny, breeze 9-10, waves less than 1 foot. even the dog stretched out and fell asleep. Last week it was my daughter and I pounding back in 15=20 with 3'-4' on the bow quarter Reached out until I thought the breeze would probably fail as evening came on. Reached back until the wind fell to under three and motored the last mile to the marina. Picked up a pizza on the way home, a tradition on NCIS night. I couldn't ask for a better day. Now I'm winding down (UP?) with the First Four from my home town.

Well, I'm starting to think about pulling the cover off... And the big Defender Warehouse Sale is week after next about 20 minutes from here--it's almost like going to a major boat show--minus the boats, except there are more inflatables than in any boat show I've seen!

That's about the best we've got here for now...

We're having a warmer than average March, but it's still March with its swings between spring and winter. This weekend snow, next weekend 70°s. They put our floating docks in the harbor - no ice this year. Last year was another story, ice out March 21. We're Passage ready for launch, I could have already splashed.

Short, but I got my last saltwater sail for the year this morning. Another beautiful day. I spent the afternoon-rigging,removing and folding sails, and putting up the various poles for lowering the mast in the morning. A little Spring work and we'll be ready for Lake Erie.

Suppose to head out for a sunset sail with the wife, daughter and bf, but we have a pretty significant fish kill in our area. The girls might not want to put up with the smell. Good luck with the trip north Dave.

I Pulled pearl out today and it was only a modest adventure. It was a bad phase of tides, varying between +0.4' and +0.8' above MLW. The channel is straighter this year, but a few spots are only 3.8', close with the keel up and waves. The rudder, unfortunately, needs a little more water than that and kicked up. The SE wind tended to blow water out of the bay and away from the ramp. The chop was about 1 foot. A few rudder drags and a couple of backing the keel out of the sands and we made it to the ramp. Thunderstorms arrive tomorrow for a few days, so I couldn't wait for a more favorable tide like I usually do for launch and recovery. Fishing was terrible this year due to a red tide persisting well into December, but overall a nice winter and sad to go. Lake Erie has an acute shortage of dolphins and pelicans

I forgot to add: I didn't get the truck wired for my winch since I bought it a week before leaving. Putting a boat battery in the bed and powering the winch with jumper cables turned some heads. Fortunately this is redneck county and I fit right in.

With the snows in Lake Erie has ice - out happened yet? Water s still 45° here but at least it's liquid. I'm still 5 weeks away from splash... Probably be 80°s by then.

Dave we have had very little ice of here. Haven't warmed up much yet. I will probably uncover mine in a week or two.
