Canyon Lake marina sustained major damage Friday night from straight-line winds of 100 mph. Two docks broke away and crashed into a third, damaging many boats. The main walkway to the docks was broken and several of the side walkways. Also roof damage to the covered slips.
This is the worst I have known in 25 years.

Hopefully nobody was hurt. The rest is just "stuff", although it's good that you didn't have a boat in the mess.

Sail mag has an article some cruisers dealing with a 180 mph storm in Polynesia--the worst ever recorded in the S. Pacific--and relief efforts for the local population. Imagine a storm almost twice as strong as at Canyon Lake. The precursor was the unprecedented water temperatures in the Pacific... I suspect we haven't seen the end of "worsts".
