first I had the bottom sandblasted and it looks great my next
thoughts are what color to paint the bottom. The sail covers
are hunter green and the striping is brown. Any suggestions ?
The boat yard suggested brown. Also where do I get my hull number?
My boat is an 1981 full keel.

The color of the bottom paint depends on the type and brand of antifouling paint you select. If you are using an ablative paint, most use alternating colors to let them know when the paint is getting thin. Since you have sandblasted are you going to apply an epoxy barrier coat first?

As for your hull number(serial number of the boat), it is on the placard that should be on the aft part of the cockpit below the traveller. It is also in your Hull Identication Number (HIN) that you can find on the transom of your boat or simply look on the title or registration for it. The HIN breaks down like this,

CTYK4194M84C

CTY= Catalina Yachts

K4194= Serial Number 4194

M84= 1984, Year of Certification

C= October, Month of Certification

First, keep in mind that this color probably won't be seen. Second I would check with people in your area and see what they are using.

Your Hull number should also be on your title.

I have the same color scheme as you describe. Dark green canvas, near white decks, tan topsides, chocolate brown cove stripe and boot stripe. For bottom paint, I've been using Interlux Micron, which is an ablative paint. After epoxy barrier coating (a long tale of woe), I first put on an indicator coat of brown. I then mixed a small amount of left over brown into a large amount of "shark white", and applied that as a second coat. For my 3rd and 4th coats, I applied straight "shark white". My reasoning on colors is that the white paint makes it easier to tell if the bottom needs cleaning. If the outer coats of white are wearing away, the contrasting darker indicator coats will start to show through. When that happens, I know it's time to add another coat or two of white.
