Well, I'm leaving on an 8:30am flight into San Juan followed by a puddle jumper into Tortola to bareboat charter a new 40' Leopard with a few friends on mine. Super excited! Will be down there tomorrow until next Sunday night. Just wanted to let you guys know. I'll be without cell/wifi but I'll definitely take a couple good photos/videos.
See you in a week!
Update: 6/30/16
Well, as expected the trip was amazing! It was full of amazing people, places, sailing, food, weather and fun. Working on readjusting to real life now. It's Thursday and I still haven't gotten anything done at work this week.
We've started working on cutting down and editing some of the thousands of photos but I figured I would throw a few up on the photobucket to share as well as a map of our itinerary. Enjoy!
I know he's already left, but when my wife and I bareboated 10 years ago for our honeymoon we got cell service in most areas. This was with Verizon and no special international plan. I was surprised on the first night sitting on the bow of our boat in Kelly's cove, watching the sunset when my phone rang down below.

Similar to the route we did in January 2013. We were going to head back down there this December, but Zika virus has scared us off until there's a vaccine.

So we were able to side-by-side compare the Leopard 39 and the new 40 that we were on, and they turned out being worlds different. The 40 had a foot more freeboard, 2' more beam, full glass back with much larger feeling outdoor "area" as well as a glass door to the bow.

No question the 1 foot of catamaran makes a HUGE difference in space. I was impressed when I saw the 50 foot cats, until I saw a 65 dock next to us... My S2 7.9 would be LOST as a toy from a pond down there.
